UNTAMED ELEGANCE
Set high amongst the clouds at 1100 feet above sea level near the peak of Mount Carool, Ardeena was the perfect location for this styled shoot, with breathtaking ocean and hinterland views and acres of lush open fields and untouched rainforest.
The wildness of the hinterland seemed to connect with the space, achieved in both the cocktail area and the guest tables with the use of organic materials — cane, bamboo, rattan and soft grey linens. In contrast, the day oozed luxury, with the chinking of crystal champagne glasses lit by elegant gold candles, black plates, and perspex menu’s adorned with beautiful modern calligraphy. The rich pops of colour in the flowers and sweet treats cut through the dark moodiness using deep aubergine purples, raspberry reds, dusky pinks and gold in a cascade of untamed elegance. Contemporary and clean with the use of both monochrome and geometric shapes in the architecture, lighting, and bar stools, this shoot inspires the modern, design-loving bride.

A few words from the talented stylists behind the shoot, Little Gray Station…
The Camellia Weddings shoot would have to be one of our favourites so far. Every element of the shoot, from the florals right down to the place cards, all worked in so perfectly with this beautiful venue. The setting we created at the venue is vibrant and bold, with a rich, moody colour palette contrasted with soft textures, unstructured florals and watercolour calligraphy. Bright tones of marsala and indigo are carried throughout all elements of the shoot, adding a burst of colour amongst the organic elements of timber and greenery. The new purpose-built shed has an almost industrial feeling with concrete floors and steel beams, so we showcased this with black wire furniture, hairpin leg tables, gold cutlery, charcoal plateware, raw timber bench seating and drop down edison bulb lighting. The tablescape is loose and organic with a trailing off-centre floral arrangement and scattered tapered candles in tones of marsala. All of the details come together to create a striking and dramatic shoot that we are super proud of, with our amazing team of suppliers on board.
With such lush and vibrant greenery as a backdrop, we wanted to use bold and rich colours that would complement the surroundings. We were also inspired by the current climate as we head into the cooler months, which is reflected in our colour palette of marsala, indigo and berry tones, and in the details like the faux sheepskin rug and warm lighting – it came to be a very luxe winter inspired shoot. All of our incredible suppliers absolutely nailed the brief and it was so rewarding to see it all come together on the day – we think the images speak for themselves!

A few words from the talented stylists at Little Gray Station, who helped create this stunning shoot…
The idea for the shoot was to be light, airy and romantic, working with the tea plantation as our beautiful backdrop. A delicate colour scheme of lilac, lavender and greys were used, paired with silver and gold tones. We were inspired by soft textures, using ethereal floating fabrics and cotton pendant lights, with watercolour stationery and plenty of candles. The entire shoot looked so dreamy especially when the sun came down and set off the glittering metallic tones of the tablescape. Big love to all the fabulous suppliers and their incredible contributions to the shoot – it was amazing!

Organic Overtones
French elegance and bohemian styling combine in this dreamy styled shoot, captured by White Images and Matt Barwick Films. The ivy-draped backdrop of a French country house courtyard creates a relaxed yet stylish vibe, with a touch of romance in the surrounding fields and tree-shaded lanes. The bride exudes a casual grace as her dark tresses, crowned with a delicate headdress, tumble over a sheer lace-accented gown. The bright botanicals of her bouquet are echoed in the centrepieces, cocktails and artisan-crafted cake.

Understated Elegance
‘Understated elegance’ is the concept behind this pretty shoot for The Wedding Harvest, a boutique wedding fair in Brisbane on the 6th November 2016, aimed at showcasing the cream of the crop in the wedding industry. The subtle sparkle and bead work of the new Karen Willis Holmes collection shown is complemented by flowing fabrics and soft, textured florals. This and the tones of grey, white, blush and green have helped to create a light and dreamy feel.

THE WEDDING HARVEST
In a sea of fuchsias and corals, we see the creativity of some fantastic vendors in play, all for the wonderful cause of The Wedding Harvest! Planning and styling headed up by Enchanted Empire saw the shoot start with two lovers seated at an intimate reception table, covered in flowers by Garden Bird Florals, calligraphy, crockery and patterns that imitate slight Mexican festivities. The fun-natured look and feel of this fabulous shoot is only exemplified in the detailed elements, such as the cake by Petal and Peach.
The shoot later follows a scout for beautiful locations with the bride and groom… A time to celebrate and be in each others presence, dressed to a tee in Karen Willis Holmes, the intricate embroidery making it’s way gently over the torso and arms of the dress to create a gentle, simplistic flowing gown with a touch of detail.
This Sunday on November 6th, The Wedding Harvest is holding an event that is definitely worth attending.

Welcome
Welcome to our first ever blog as Amalthea Diamonds. This is a pretty special moment for us so we are glad you are here.
Amalthea Diamonds is the result of a long journey both personal and professional It started as a small idea in the head of young teenager and grew slowly over time to being launched today.
Amalthea Diamonds is the reincarnation of Hunter Valley Diamonds, my previous jewellery business. 1-1VD was an amazing little business and I loved what I was doing but while our process is as personal as it gets, our business and business story didn’t reflect this. I wanted my business to reflect everything I believed, everything we do and value and so a change was needed.
A change not to our superior service to our clients, our work, our values or what we are at our core. What we needed was a name that represented everything we are and to share our story and journey with you all more.
Step 1. Finding a name:
Finding a name proved difficult. I had huge hopes for just one word. I knew I wanted diamonds in it but what one word could sum up how I felt, who I was and what my business means. I found Amalthea late one night sifting through old childhood memories and keep sakes and much like when I met my husband or tried on my wedding dress for the first time, I just knew it was right. To discover the meaning behind Amalthea Diamonds check out our Our Story page.
Step2: Share our Story and journey.
Im not a huge sharer when it comes to those outside my family and very close friend circle. Blogging, Instagram, Facebook and Twitter don’t come naturally to me. It feels foreign to constantly share what I am doing and who I am with others, and I tend to shy away from putting too much of my personality into each post. However, what I have noticed, is, that the more my clients see of our process and what can be done and the meanings behind particular stones and design choices the more they love it. Our process empowers our clients to create. It gives them freedom and the knowledge to create something they never even knew was in them. With this empowerment and freedom they become more involved, they become more particular about elements in their design and that is a recipe for amazing pieces. This is what I want to share with you.
The ladies and gentlemen of Amalthea have truly wonderful, sometimes hilarious, sometimes heartbreaking stories to share. But what they all have in common is that they are filled with love. All kinds of love and in a world that can at times be filled with negativity why not share. Why not put a little love back into the world by sharing our stories of love with you all.
With our new venture to have our business reflect who we are more I an endeavouring to share more of what we do and who we are with you. From behind the scenes time-lapse videos to sharing the ins and outs of our design and creation process, to Mother’s Love tips, ticks and tad bits, personal journeys and beautiful features on our amazing clients. Everything we do is done with love and care. So we hope you enjoy the journey with us
Xx Bec
