Diamond Carat
A diamonds weight is measured in carats and is a vital element in determining a diamond’s value.
Mounting a diamond can make it appear larger or smaller therefore, a diamonds carat weight can only be determined when it is loose.
Each carat is divided into 100 points, therefore a half-carat stone may be referred to as .50 carat or 50-point diamond. Assuming the colour, clarity and cut are the same, there is little to no variations in per-carat price within common weight ranges.
